Dental "pain" Posted by Railhead [Email] (#93) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Railhead) on Wed, 21 Mar 2007 14:13:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
What Dental work is real, and necessary, and what part of that profession is "BS"? Without going into detail, it involved a rookie dentist just out of school. I was unaware she was inexperienced, until it was too late.
Now 3 years later,it's reported by my new dentist; I have 3 fractured teeth and need 7 crowns, and a gum scraping. I will certainly get a second opinion, but the dentist won't release my x-rays, and the insurance won't pay for new ones. the crowns are $1000 each. I don't want or need "mouth bling bling" and I think I'd rather put $7k into a my SAAB instead. OTOH it would be great if my mouth was working properly.
So, is it true that we have to go to the dentist 4 times a year? It is true that no matter what you do/eat/drink, your teeth will not survive if you don't get your gums scraped every year? That todays diet is harmful to your teeth? What options do I really have, other than more pain in the dentist chair? (or do nothing and have pain when the teeth fall out) What a choice!
I apologize for the rant. anyone one have any thoughts "outside the box?"
Thanks, RH
