please keep them coming. Nothing like local knowledge and tips from people who've been someplace before. (And Rod is right, I won't be enjoying this ride in one of my Saabs, but it'll still be fine.) I'm seeing about renting a convertible for the ride, but topless or not it should be a lot of fun.
I originally had another, longer run in mind for this trip west, but the dates of things shifted so it wouldn't work. I was gonna have 2-3 days between having to be in SF and being in Albuquerque, so I was going to drive to Reno at the end of my last work day in SF. Then take two days to go on Rte 50 (the loneliest road in America) across Nevada, then down through Moab and the canyon country in Utah to Albuquerque. But the dates changed, so it's Highway One.
