Smoked the motor in my Z Wednesday evening. Just driving down the interstate; thought I heard something odd so I rolled up the windows. The tap tap tap became a tick tick tick, which progressed into a knock knock knock, which ended up at a bang! bang! bang! as I watched my oil pressure drop from 40 to 10 pounds in probably 2 miles. I finally shut her down at 10psi, coasted off the exit to a gas station and called AAA to haul me home. These things happen I guess....I probably should have pulled over as soon as I heard things going bad, but there was no way I was going to wait on the side of the interstate for a flatbed with a broken down muscle car.....there's just something not right about it.
