Any of you people live in WA?
BTW, About 12 years ago I was driving through Parkersburg WV and pulled up next to a Sonnet at a light in my 4 dr 900S. Not being able to flash my head lights, I honked and waved. The guy stared at me like he didn't get it. I can't decide if it was because he was too stuck up to admit that there was a relationship between the Sonnet and the 900 or if he wasn't aware that there was one.
I have to wonder if this is the case with the newer SAAB crowd:
1. Did they buy their car "accidentally", that is, the preppy crowd thinks it's cool and these buyers just wanted something a bit more pricey than a VW, but couldn't spring for a BMW? Or a college kid that was car shopping and thought the car was simply cool? Is it that they just aren't connected with what it is to be a SAAB driver?
2. They've seen some of us older model SAAB drivers maybe a little frayed around the collar and assume we're driving the older ones because we can't afford the newer ones rather than realizing we're driving them because we just think older SAABs are just as cool (or cooler). Is it a sort of "you can't touch this" attitude? Or a reverse attitude? -Guilty
3. Or did the old etiquette just simply die because the cars became more common and we'd start wearing out our high beam switches just "waving" at all the other SAABs?
I admit I've sort of given up flashing headlights because I felt the other drivers didn't get it. Other C900 drivers wave their hands, especially C900 verts, but I hardly ever see the old flashed headlights.
