I've never been to the Vineyard, -though I may live in the West Coast equivalent (?)- So I don't know if that counts against me or not.

Like most things should be, for the most part I choose a product, etc, not because the preppy crowd does it, but mostly because I like it. I drive SAABs because in a world where so many cars look alike, they stand out and have character to spare.
I wear Topsiders because they're extremely comfortable and can be worn just about everywhere.(Sort of like Barbour Jackets) I'm a professional photographer, so I can wear them excersizing or shooting, but also put a blazer and tie on and wear them to business meetings. This way I only really have to wear one pair of shoes on trips and save my baggage allowances for the ever important camera gear.
I don't sail, ride to keep up with the Joneses but rather because my parents introduced me to these sports almost before I could walk as had they're parents in South America and Europe.

I really detest the stuffed shirt, keep up with the Joneses crowd. I'm definitely not imitating them; maybe they're imitating me?
