Keep your eyes open with log homes.
We were hot to do that until we dug into it more. They are great and look fine, but it is more difficult to add on later (using the same construction methods), running wiring for the exterior walls is more difficult and some find the sheer amount of wood gets old after living in it awhile. Remember that the wood will darken with age, so the interior will be darker in a few years. No big, but it means you have to think about windows, skylights and interior lighting early, not later.
I found they typically cost more than stick built. There are lots of styles of logs to choose from which complicates the choice. Go to several different builders to see all the options. There are log cabin trade shows to check out, worth it if you think that's a good way to go.
I like 'em, but am going stick or P&B.
