In the US there aren't going to be many Saabs around with carbs from the 1970s and none from the early 80s. Even our 1970 99 had fuel injection (99E to be exact which indicates electronic fuel injection) although some of the early 99s were also available with a carb in the US and the 96/95s would have been carb as well.
The question about the gas for cars from the leaded fuel era is interesting. Might need lead additive or engine valve work but don't know. I think unleaded was mandatory in US by mid 70s (~ 1974-1976 or something).
