I guess price range would be important. If you're all spendy, go to the merchandise mart on the chicago river between wells and orleans. http://www.mmart.com Those are full kitchen/dining buildouts, not sure if that’s what you're looking for.
They have some beautiful setups on the first and second floors where they have from modern to old fashioned, and I think with some finagling you could get into the upper floors that are usually restricted to designers. Hold on to your wallet, though.
Then if you like middle eastern go to Kan Zamen just up wells a few blocks for lunch/dinner, or there's an old school sushi place also, Naniwa, on the same block, or gene and georgetti's steakhouse is just north of there too.
