I've always wanted to get a seat out of a salvaged car and make it into an office chair for my desk. Has anyone ever done this before with a seat out of a Saab? I'm a little low on funds at the moment so maybe this summer... (I could always steal the passenger seat out of my 9-5 and bolt a plastic deck chair in there with a bungee cord for a seat belt I suppose). I'm thinking one of the newer seats with the SAHR (you never know when you're going to get rear-ended sitting doing homework), 1999+ 9-3 or 9-5, ideally manually adjustable. Those seem pretty rare though so what are the electrical connections like on the bottom of the electric seats? Maybe I could get a DC converter and get fancy with some wiring? How about the tracks on the bottom? It would be nice to somehow tie them in with the base of a regular office chair with the 5 casters. Anyone familiar with junkyards in CT that carry Saab parts so I can go pick something locally up rather than paying for freight shipping? Sorry for the random post, but thanks for any help.
