GM parts aren't all that bad when you consider that...

Back in the 60's and 70's, Saabs used Lucas electrical parts. Ask anyone with a British car about Lucas electrics and you'll get an earful. Like others have mentioned, the V4 engine in these cars came from the German division of Ford. Brake parts are the same as some of the MG models of that period. The transmissions for the Model 95/96/Sonett were British, as far as I know. I wish I knew exactly, because transmission parts are practically impossible to come by.
Like Ted M. and other have said, best get over it, because if it weren't for Saab sourcing parts from other manufacturers, there wouldn't be a Saab right now. Saab probably NEVER could afford to build a whole car all by themselves, unless maybe you counted the URSAAB, and it wouldn't surprise me if that has British parts in it too.
In other words, I have to be thankful that Saab sourced some of their parts from other manufacturers, otherwise my vintage Saab wouldn't even be on the road right now. It's hard enough as it is, trying to get parts for a 35 year old car.
