If you think about it.
What person can they possibly hire and pay when they charge $19.95 and have to make a profit on that.

They still have to buy a filter and the oil (lowest possible quality of course) and pay the mechanic some.
To do the inspection and oil change that they so proudly display on their check sheet, it takes at least 20 min to 1/2 hour for a brand specific trained eye. That would be the same as approx $20.00 to 40.00 in labor alone to charge out to customer and the whole shebang is sold for $19.95 with filters and fluids. Something has to give?

It's funny, I had a new customer recently which had used a quick lube place 3 times during 2007.

The first invoice was about $119.00, the second one was $279.00 and the last one was $230.00.

So during a full year, they had to go back there 3 times and spent about the same amount of money on questionable parts, fluids and services like air induction service, fuel injection service and engine cleaning service as it would have been coming one time to me and received a full major service with all the filters, fluids and spark plugs and such and then they wouldn't have had to come back for another year with that specific car.
