Sorry if I disagree with this. In my younger days I grew up watching Erik Carlson blast his SAAB around the rallye course, and seeing the car flying through the air. The perception was that SAAB must build a great car, seeing that it could survive that constant punishment. At the time, I don't remember Ford Falcons or other American cars doing any memorable, except a drag race, or maybe a Wheelie. I would contend that even now, Suby's WRC makes a positive statement for the brand. Does SAAB build a rallye contender now? Probably not. A race car? No. A luxury-sport car? Yes. It's too bad there isn't a way for SAAB to prove victory in that segment of the car world.
