Trust me, I've seen nicer ones and wished I had started there, but this car has sentimental value to my father-in-law and it would mean a lot to him if I were able to get it looking nice again and spend time enjoying it the same way he had. Thankfully, there's no major rust in any critical area - basically its localized on inner rear wheel wheels and the rockers, both of which I have replacement panels cut from a good car that was in a front end collision. I do know what you mean about the cheap, thin gauge steel though...makes me really appreciate the quality of materials used in my saabs.
