I have the 659, the only thing it can't control is my PS3. I'm waiting for a harmony remote that supports bluetooth, but until then, this one controls everything else. I have a Toshiba hd dvd player, Sony receiver, Panasonic tv, and DirecTV hd dvr. It's a little slow to actually program and goes through batteries way too fast, also, if you're watching something (or listening to the stereo or whatever) and the batteries need to be replaced, after you replace them, it assumes you're back at "beginning" settings, so if you hit the function you were doing before, like "watch TV", it tries to reset all the devices from scratch. I get by this by covering the remote until it's done turning everything back on after I replace the batteries. Kind of quirky, like a Saab!
