that keeping it in 6th will get you better fuel economy. That's because more turbo boost means more compression and more extraction of energy from the fuel instead or using more fuel to spin the engine faster.
Doing a back-to-back test is the best way to check. Otherwise you would have to look at the fuel map, (fuel usage at various engine rpm and loads), to find the answer. You could always buy a ScanGage and check fuel consumption instantaneously. I have one and I like having it handy when I drive.
