I'll disagree on this point. The *only* times ABS ever comes into play for me, and the only time I think about it (ok - other than if the warning light is on...) is just after a panic stop and it has engaged. It may have kept me from an accident about three, maybe four times, in the past 15 years since my first car with it, I say may because I may or may not have stopped short enough without but would not bet either way.
I could not imagine driving differently because I have ABS, any more that I could drive differently between my Saabs with and without Airbags? Duh, ok I can tailgate this guy because I have airbags? ABS? That's just too goofy. There are *many* other things to consider when driving than "can I drive differently because I have ABS/Airbags/SeatBelts or some other Safety item". Road condition/traffic/other drivers doing odd things, how to get where I am going, dodging the junk on the road, those are the things I'm on the lookout for and having or not having ABS will never change that.
