From the fun perspective, I can't think of anything better than an e30 M3. For $10,000 though, you get only high-mileage cars. A nice one grabs over $20K. My dad has an '89 with 58K miles on it. It's worth more everyday he owns it. I've never driven anything that handles better. Sure, there are plenty of faster cars out there, but what a blast to drive that thing. And 200HP isn't bad for an '80s 4-cylinder, especially in a 2700# car. That thing makes me smile... a lot! If you can find a tight e30 M3 for less than $10K, give me the phone number.

Personally, for $10K, I'd consider a REALLY nice e30 325is. (With money left over to keep it that nice.)

As someone else asked, what's your idea of fun? Some people would buy a Jeep. Or a motorcycle. Or an original VW bug cvt.

I have my "fun" car that I drive all the time. My 9000 Aero.

This is a fun topic though.
