Been here 13+ years. The southern end of the state where I am--especially the area from Concord south to Nashua and east to the seacoast-- is still pretty good jobwise. However, it's influenced by proximity to Massachusetts which doesn't aways do so well in a down economy. (Been there for that). If schools are important to you, pick your town carefully.
Elsewhere in NH may be less promising. Remember, this is a primarily rural state, so depending on what you do (or want to do) it may or may not be a good fit. But yes, unemployment rate is low, and there is no sales or income tax. You still get nailed by Massachusetts if you work there, though.
NH is a great place to live. Scenic, nice in all four seasons, has a slower pace than more urbanized states, but there's still everything most people need or want. Depends on what you're looking for. It helps if you like year-round outdoor activities, as winter is long if you can't deal with cold and snow. And there are lots of Saabs!
BTW, the the link from turbosaab is to the site of the Free Staters, a bunch of naive, utopian whack-jobs. Much of the information in it is outdated, inaccurate or downright misleading. There are only a handful of them, mostly in one part of the state. Everyone here ignores them.
