Where have you been for the last 40 years. I dunno' about trying to define a car company by 40 year old models that BTW had Ford industrial engines in them. You want Saab to take the key off the floor or give up turbos because it's not traditional Saab design?
Still to this day 9-3 and 9-5 styling is very handsome and the design language of Saab is still very clear and unique.
A 96 was a lot more car than a Beetle, and a 9-3 is still somewhat larger than a Golf. Saab has been better than some in keeping their models close to the same size and weight, or actually going backwards some say from 9000 to 905. And for a small Saab go drive a 9-2X Aero and try wiping the smile off your face.
I'm very surprised you own a 9-5, the greatest Saab of all time.
Great picture of Fiats BTW.
