I fly a lot and always like it when I see a guy with some gray hair in the left seat. Chances are he's ex-Air Force or Navy and knows how to fly when things go seriously south. Navy pilots are still the best, IMHO. I hung out with those guys when I was in the Navy, have flown sailplanes with them, and seen them put planes on the deck of a carrier in totally abysmal conditions. That's the skill set I want driving the plane I'm flying on.

Sully did a superb job. If I'd been on board I'd send him a bottle of Scotch.
