You mean a "domain", not a URL :-)
Who is approaching you - a private buyer or a company? Domains have differing values based on what it is worth to the buyer. If the domain name is generic (like shoes.com) it has more value to more people. If it's more specific (smithgear.com) then it likely has value to very few people - but it might have substantial value to them. If a large company has apporached you, you can probably get more. If it's a "private" buyer, be aware that they might be a shill for a larger buyer that is trying to hide behind the proxy.
You might want to go here and look:http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/events/197/results.html Be aware that the names sold here are names that people thought were marketable in the frst place - it's not a global survery of domain sale prices. If your name is popular, you might be better off at an auction.
