My cousin has one... Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Fri, 6 Mar 2009 08:43:27 In Reply to: Anyone used the Blackberry Storm?, Noel, Fri, 6 Mar 2009 06:49:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
And I do not care for it. I don't have one myself or use one every day but the few times I have played with hers I am always very happy to go back to my iPhone 3G. The Storm looks nice, as does the screen, but I found it to be extremely slow and not as intuitive as the iPhone interface. Scrolling through the home screen is choppy and takes FOREVER. You just want to drop kick the darned thing off a bridge. Texting, or any sort of typing also sucks. With the iPhone you just have to make a slight contact with the letter and you hear a nice click to let you know you hit it. With the Storm you have to use some effort to click the screen and it's slow to respond. Plus the iPhone has WiFi which is very necessary on an internet browsing phone. IMHO it's worth switching to at&t for the iPhone. I am in CT and have never experienced drop calls or poor service with at&t. I don't understand why people like Verizon so much around here. The only downfalls of the iPhone are you can't do multimedia messaging, and it doesn't do voice commands. You also can't take videos but I got a free app called CyCorder that does a nice job. I also just found this review on CNET that puts the storm up against the iPhone and was surprised they actually agreed with a lot of my opinions.
