few reasons to get it IMHO

I have had one since new years and it has the latest software. it is slow to respond. sometimes only half the screen comes up with a phone call and i will miss the call waiting for the answer button to appear. it can stay halfway responding to turning. i had to change some very obscure settings to be able to launch a browser from an email attachment. memory fills up fast since you can't use the card for applications or email (as best I can figure). definite advantage to going overseas, but the roaming charges as dicussed here requires your attention before you get over there.
i moved to storm from a treo, which i dropped one too many times and its reception declined a lot. overall, i had some frustrations with the treo, mainly that you couldn't keep more than one task going at a time, and that is not the case with the storm, but i would pick the treo over the storm at this point.
typing is ok in landscape mode; horrible in portrait mode.
verizon is the best. count on spending an hour or more at your verizon store and try everything on a few different BB and treo's. Wish the new palm pre wasn't just with sprint. once i found that out, is when i pulled the trigger on the storm.
I am getting used to it, but it is just too slow with the present software.
