Question on removing brake dust Posted by Rod [Email] (#3128) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rod) on Thu, 9 Jul 2009 07:41:16 In Reply to: NY Times on Brake Dust, EGD [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 9 Jul 2009 05:22:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Normal brake dust comes off pretty easily with Simple Green, but I've got some that's really encrusted on my 944 wheels. I was using some Hawk racing pads for a track day and I think that's the problem since I've never seen anything like this before. With Simple Green and a toothbrush I think it will come off, but it will take several hours of scrubbing. I bought some special wheel cleaner and that's a little better, but still very slow.
Any wonderful compounds out there that will get rid of this stubborn build-up without damaging the wheels?
