and what they came out of. The article mentions the Exploder being the most traded. But what did they go to?
A smaller SUV? An econobox? This program really aims at well-used cars, and older SUVs have often been the mom-mobile in a lot of households. So if the urchins it used to tote around are older (and possibly driving) the momcar can easily be something smaller. For example, when we went from an Exploder to a 9-5 wagon 3 years ago it was when #1 kid was driving (and had a car) and had stopped doing dog shows (the reason the Exploder made sense when we bought it).
Whatever the results, getting SUVs and other guzzlers off the road is a good thing, and it's good for the dealers, too. And puts money in states' checkbooks with tax dollars on new vehicles.
Anyone here know someone who dumped an old car in the program?
