I've had decent luck with Polar Posted by Saabpilot [Email] (#134) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabpilot) on Thu, 10 Sep 2009 20:06:50 In Reply to: ot>heart rate monitors..., kooch, Wed, 9 Sep 2009 10:14:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If you work out at a gym, many of the modern machines are set up to receive Polar wireless signals. I don't recall the model Polar I have, but my wireless signal is somehow encoded or something so there is no interference from someone working out next to me. It's a nice convenience not to have to place your hands on the sensors on the workout equipment in order to see your heart rate. I've not experienced any problems with the chest band and I've not used the conductivity jels. I was pleasantly surprised by that since I'm a hairy chested guy.
Of course, in general you cannot go wrong with Garmin products. I'm not sure if they communicate directly with commercial workout equipment, though.
