I suggest that you do some research to find out what you could buy that car for new. Check out the 2009 and 2010. You may find that a new 2009, comparably equipped car only costs another few thousand.

The model you are looking at can be bought new for around $35K around here in central NJ. Without nav but with 4-matic you could probably get one for $33.5K-$34.5K.

In short, you may still decide to buy the 2008 you're looking at; however, you should know what a new one costs so that you have a firm assessment as to how much you're really saving.

It was exactly this sort of research that led me to buy a new 2007 9-5 Aero a little more that two years ago. The difference turned out to be <$2K for a new 2 year newer car.
