I had an '09 C300 as a loaner a few months back - here's what I wrote about it then:

The C300 is a funny little car... it seems nice when you're just sitting there, and then the second it starts moving the whole thing turns into failure. It lacks any sort of real driving dynamics. It goes where you point it, but it never makes you feel good about it. You just don't wanna push it because you really don't feel like it's gonna be any fun if you do. It's strangely dead at low revs, but has a strong midrange and higher revs it really pulls. Kinda nice in that respect, but not nice enough to make up for the first 3500 yawny revs. Also, the manumatic is a freaking joke. Slap the shifter and wait for it... wait for it... still wait for it... oh, there you go. It's odd, because it's snappy when it shifts by itself. You really might as well forget about it.

The interior is a little plain, but very nice. The leather does not feel great - in fact, maybe a little cheap. I would forgive it if it were a cheaper car, but when a baby Benz costs $40k, you really have to wonder if it's worth it. I will say that I spent five hours in it, and never got sore or uncomfortable - the seats are - materials aside - quite nice, and way better than my sister's '05 ('06?). Oh - the switchgear is all very strange - the window switches and sunroof switches are strangely shaped and/or strangely oriented which makes their use not exactly ergonomic. The sunroof thingy is particularly annoying. I also take issue with the dumb little combo display in the console... it's controls are spread out all over the dashboard, and ultimately it doesn't serve much of a useful purpose. The instrument cluster, however, it crisp and clean and pretty nice IMHO.
