Here in Vermont, requiring SNOW tires, not ALL Seasons on all passenger veichles from Nov. 15 to Apr. 15. That would include tourist veichles. They passed a law in Quebec similar to this last year and don't the Rocky Mt. states have a similar law? I traded the old 9K last summer for a Subaru due to the clunkers program. Put 4 studded Nokia's on the Sabaru in mid October so I would have a fair comparison. Can't even imagine trying to drive it on snow covered roads with the factory Bridgestones. And no, the Subaru is NOT as stable as the 9K at speed on a bad road, with the same tires. Go traction, from 0-20 is better, but not braking, directional, or cornering grip.
Alas, I was lured by dependability, 63 month 0% financing, 100K warranty and clunker cash. In hindsight, I shoulda found a low (100K), 96-98 rust free 9K.
