Thinking about the possible demise of the brand, what would be the potential for an investor to purchase just the name & manufacturing rights and start a new product styled on pre-GM design language (with newer technology), similar to what BMW did with MINI, or Triumph Motorcycles did with the Bonneville, where they basically created a new product based on an old concept. Obviously both already had dealer networks in place (less so with Triumph...) to facilitate sales & service of this new car/bike, but it was still a brand that had gone extinct in the North American Market for several years. So SAAB goes dormant and comes back as a reincarnted version of the classic 99/900 concept. Wouldn't that be preferable to a company like Spyker trying to keep this sinking GM castoff afloat for [maybe] another few years before it eventually implodes from the "legacy" left to it by the Giant Monster? To throw off the old shackles and start over seems like it's the only way to really get out of this downward spiral. Maybe that's what Genii has in mind(?) I'm trying to get my head around a world without SAAB - seems like such a tragic, wasteful end.
