after 17yrs of c900 ownership myself and grew up in a saab family, almost pulled the trigger on a new turboX. But in the end, couldn't do it. Bought an audi s4 wagon instead. Was also a car that always lusted for, but broke my heart that wasn't a saab. i love SAAB. But reality was that couldn't part with such cash in exchange for a car that deep down, was 1/2 as much SAAB and five times as much GM as desired = did not have that brick sh!thaus feel i enjoyed. And that's not a slap at newer gen saabs, either; the 9-3SS debuted as a sharp car but never evolved. Likewise the 9-5. Cars should get BETTER year after year. Rather, watched the progression of horrid plastic "touch" to parts, the fake chrome, increasing plastic acreage on the exterior each year, failure to capitalize on saab-born ideas - was hard to be optimistic about the company's future. I've as many books, pictures, spare parts as any other saabnut and been to Trollhatten, too. I didn't leave saab or "not buy a new saab"; saab left saab, so i had to buy something else. If/when saab builds cars again of their own design and primarily from their own parts bins, will get in line to buy one.
