I totally disagree. I find the 2.4 L Malibu to be a very nice drive. It's a bit slow, (but it gets better fuel economy than the Accord or Camry 4 cyl.) I find it more refined, with better handling and a more responsive throttle than the 4 cylinder Accord I've driven. That car is Accord is scary because it runs out of steam when you try to accelerate to pass, it revs like crazy after downshifting but doesn't get going. The Malibu's interior materials are comparable, maybe a slight notch down compared to the Accord. On the other hand the Camry Hybrid I've driven has cheaper materials than the Malibu with more hard plastic.
Truth be told, the Malibu is actually more refined than my Saab with respect to noise vibration and harshness.
