Variations in the magnetic field is what that device is all about. I'm not a geologist/geophysicist but it'll be interesting to see if Noel's buddy says anything.

Nice idea, but "they" have to figure out what it really means. For that matter I don't know if that type of measurement signature occurs thousands of times and is NOT followed by an earthquake.

I bet you could find MANY people who had dreams or premonitions about the earthquake. The tough part is filtering the data to understand all the false positives that were NOT followed by an earthquake.
