Focus at moment needs to be on the heart of the line up. The 9-5 and 9-3. Right now Saab nearly has a zero car line up. Focus on bringing the 9-5 to market, tweaks to hold the 9-3, and work like crazy to ensure the 9-3 is a knock out winner. Saab will die or live on the next 9-3; there is no room for failure.
My vision for the 9-3 is a vehicle about the current size, deeply curved windscreen, double wishbone or multi-link front suspension, add in the best of Saab design elements. Don't get too carried away on the gee whiz stuff like keyless ignition and other superficial things that just add to purchase and repair cost (put it into a technology pack for those that really want the garbage). Focus on the essential elements of the car and design to deliver an outstanding car with the character that makes you want it and makes you willing to reach for it. But along the earlier lines try to keep it as affordable as possible to generate as much volume as possible. Consider models available without sunroofs, leather, and some of the gee whiz stuff while still being very desirable autos that will appeal to enthusiasts. Offer practical but sporty hatch as one of the variants in line up along with sedan.
