Much appreciation for the input so far, but how about folks who are actually using tankless water heaters???? I've got a water heater that may last 1 day or 10yrs. I'm thinking ahead. And the tankless system is appealing. I'm willing to do the gas, water, and exhaust issues, but would like to hear from folks who actually use these systems.
I'm worried about having to run the water for several minutes untill the hot water kicks in. I'm also worried about having enough hot water to wash clothes. What happens when I want to wash my hands before cooking food and splash some water on my face in the winter? I'm thinking it is different between tanks and tankless.
