That's all good, but what do you do when they resist?
An elderly relative has worked the HIPAA laws to his favor. He runs into his garage door & walls regularly, & it seems it's only a matter of time before he hurts someone. His lawyer says we have no authority to take away his keys. He has his medical info protected under HIPAA so we can't even know what the doctor says. We strongly suspect the doctors HAVE told him to stop driving. But he comes home & says the Dr. told him he's perfectly fine to drive.
