Worries about turbo? Depends on the kid

Truth be told, I WAS worried about this. Especially since #2 daughter liked the thrust of the turbo in my '96 9K. I actually considered disconnecting the BPV on the 9-3 to keep her at base boost (always an option!).
But I have since found out that she really doesn't like to go fast and that she's a conservative driver. One year, no accidents, no tickets-- and the cops around here are relentless.
What made a big impact on her was having friends be in accidents with injuries. One has managed to total two cars. Another is only alive because she was wearing a seat belt. Nothing drives home the danger like having friends hurt. So she knows it can happen and it haas made her a more cautious driver.
As for the turbocharged car... a '99 9-3 is moderately quick. I got in plenty more trouble without a turbocharger when I was a kid.
I recommend having your girl attend a Tire Rack Street Survival course if there's one in your area. Really shows them a lot.
