Ref: 2005 SAAB 92X AERO
The day started out fine. Replaced rotors and pads on the right side. Feeling good. Went to the left side Top caliper mounting bracket came out fine then the lower one was not budging. Got out the 3 foot breaker bar and sheared the bolt head right off. I've been playing car since the mid 60's and never broke a caliper bolt.
It is what it is. Now I'm looking for advice on how to get it out. It sheared off right below the head and the caliper bracket is still on. Hit it with PB blaster. My plan is to wait a day then drill a hole and try the easy out. I assume I'll be able to drill into the hardened bolt. Should I heat it up?
Your ideas are most welcomed. I don't want to turn this into a bigger job.
Thanks!
Wayne
