I used to have my leather shoes done by a cobbler in the small town I used to live in (in the Bay Area). I believe he charged around $12 per pair for heels and $24 or so for full soles, but it's been a few years so I may be off a bit. The shop always smelled great, too. I too love having things repaired by craftsmen instead of throwing them away.
