There are so many factors that effect how cars hold up it's really hard to make sweeping generalizations. For everyone who had V6 problems with an NG900 you'll find someone how properly maintained one and had great luck with it. The sludge problems that Saab (and almost every other manufacturer)had are probably a reult of how the cars are used, but no one ever has established what exactly. And not all individual cars are created equal. The old square Jeep Cherokees had the distinction of being one of the few cars to have all black dots on the CR dot reliablilty chart. And yet a guy I worked with had owned 6 or 7 of them, his kids had them and the whole family loved them (I think he had a screw loose). Hell, I owned a Chevette in college. Bought it new, drove it 90,000 miles and it was the cheapest car to keep going I've ever owned. Some times it's how you drive and take care of them, sometimes it's just plain luck of the draw, but I've had pretty good results with 15 or so Saabs I've had going back to a stroker.
