There seems to be conflation and confusion in that DomainB article. GM did sell the company early last yr to the consortium of Spyker and the investors, ie, banks of Swedish Gvt.and european union something or other banking institution.
As for "viability issues " re-entering equation, that doesn't make sense. There isn't much change over weeks as to how viable the company is or isn't.
It's in a several-year period where viability, by definition, IS in question. That's what it means to dig yourself out of a hole in a very tough business.
They appear to likely be given another 2 or 3 yrs by investors, gvts, etc, would be my guess based on their financials, before a lack of better numbers will cause an end to the company's operations.
I thought that a lease or warranty period requires (in US) parts to be available during that period, and for some yrs after that, regardless of bankruptcy of an automaker.
