I've been pondering a career change. My daughters leaving for Overseas in the near future. My wife is comfortable and happy (Or so she says) and I have always had an interest in this area. I'd like to hear from any Nuclear Techs out there no matter what your specific daily duties entail; as well as anyone with insight into this career field or if you just know someone or think you know someone whose chosen this profession.

I'm attempting to get an idea of the working environment, politics and what its REALLY like in its different forms.

With the recent incidents in Japan my interest have been piqued once more. I don't wanna think I'm crazy (the wife does give me interesting looks on occasion), just curiously curious. BTW, This is not Nuclear Medicine.

Any input and/or guidance is greatly appreciated!
