I've been in the commercial nuclear field for many years (with some breaks including work at a DOE superfund site). What type of work are you looking for? Technician level (RP? Maintenance?), Operations, or Engineering?
The industry pays well, but can be quite challenging; the work environment is highly regulated and proceduralized. They may never build another nuke, but there is plenty of work in decommissioning.
BTW, to the poster mentioning Thorium: I'm all about moving to that as a fuel. Thorium is very abundant and currently is "waste" from mining many REE ores. I understand that India is looking to that as a fuel due to the availability of Thorium ore in the country. Look up the "molten salt reactor" ...
