Sorry I misunderstood your Porsche comment. Perhaps I was too rash.
I subscribed to Autoweek back in the 1980's. I wouldn't say it was tremendously insightful, but certainly better than C&D or R&T. But either of those latter two publications is sitting around, I'll pick it up and read their latest muscle car or car-you'll-never-drive-because-it-costs-more-than-your-house review.
There are some true car enthustiast mags out there. I subscribed to European Car for awhile, and my only beef was that they were too Germanocentric, not enough Saab, but they had good stuff on aftermarket tuning.
