Typical shortsighted GM management stupidity

One has to ask the obvious question: just what is GM protecting itself against, whilst destroying the opportunity (twice) to get hundreds of millions for Saab?
The obvious protectionist step seems to be for Chinese Buick sales, but what's the point? Other automakers are already in China or have deals pending to go in. So GM throws away a bundle of money today up front to protect itself against Saabs being sold... only to find all the same competition a year or two from now from other makers (about the same time Saabs will be up an being produced). Meanwhile, only slightly dated 9-3 & 9-5 technology has already been sold to China, and the public's perception of those Saabs will be - guess what - direct competition for Buick. This might be news to some here, but no one talks about the CAN BUS in showrooms or with their friends. The Chinese public will receive no difference in the luxury of an 9-3 or 9-5 vs. the latest models vs, Buick. I mean... let's get real: we're talking Buicks here.
This is classic myopic, blinders on, GM management stupidity. They have no clue and never will have one.
