I agree with the idea that a Class Action lawsuit is in order.
I am well out of warranty on my (GM-era) Saab, but the car needs a new seat belt, among other problems. Probably unavailable right now, I'm going to check this week.
I wonder how it would look if my car is unable to get a vital piece of safety equipment, due to GMs handling of Saab?
And those with newer vehicles have much more of a gripe than I do.
The fact that people have had their expensive GM-built motor vehicles sitting idle for months, due to an inability to get parts, is unconscionable.
There seems to be little interest in the media in this situation. A joke of a website like TTAC was more concerned with "mean" Saab owners posting messages on GM's Facebook site, than with the fact that some Saab owners have large paperweights sitting in their driveway, due to GM's handling of this situation.
I have received settlements from Microsoft and Briggs and Stratton from Class Action lawsuits, and their sins against me were quite minor compared to GM's.
