Is it a SAMSUNG by chance? When I moved over the summer I got a Samsung LED Smart TV for the living room. So it has an interface where it can connect to Pandora, Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, etc... If you bought a Samsung it would be the same interface. It doesn't have WiFi built in so I bought a USB WiFi adapter that plugs in the back, but because my wireless router is right under the TV I ended up using an ethernet wire for a more reliable connection. If your DVD player has "WiFi Built-in" you're all set to go. If not you can grab an adapter to plug into it or use a wire. It's completely independent of your computer, so it doesn't need to be on. Just the wireless. When I set mine up I had to use my computer though to activate the Pandora/Netlix/Hulu accounts on the TV. So you don't have to enter your passwords using the clumsy remote every time you want to use it on the TV.
