Problems with Facebook (IMHO):
- Their sole income stream is advertising
- Their ad revenue does not justify the IPO valuation
- Their ad revenue has stalled and is starting to slide
- Users are leaving the fold after becoming bored with FB
- Low barriers of entry for competitors
- New competitors are appearing, forcing FB to buy them

Opportunities for Facebook:
- Billions of dollars with which they can invest in, or create, an infinite variety of profit generating businesses

If they stay remain strictly a social networking message board they will likely slowly fade away. I don't make my personal and business decisions based on the opinions of uninformed "friends". However, from the number of people who can't perform their own grocery shopping without getting opinions from their blue tooth contacts it is obvious I am in a minority. Maybe there is a future in serving people who are incapable of deciding even the most mundane decisions by themselves.
