The 2 Taurus wagons we had had the Ford AXOD automatic, and both had
serious problems (although out around 130k+ miles). To be fair, some
of that may have been my poor attention to maintenance. Our Fusion has
a Japanese Asin 5-speed automatic. That may be the reason for better
reliability. I hope so, it seems like a nice transmission to me. Most
of the time it shifts like I would. They did have some problems with the
6-speed automatic for a couple years. Time will tell the new 6-speed
DSG boxes work out.
