I'm a certifiable Saab nut who currently owns five Saabs. Many of you know me from events like Carlise and Swedish car day as well as some NE Saab cruises I have organized.
Scott said it would be OK if I posted a shameless plea here to appeal for help in raising support for a cancer research fund raiser I'm partipating in next weekend. I'm a three time cancer survivor. Next weekend I'll be joining 5,000 other cyclist in a 200 mile bike ride across the heart of Saab country by participating in the Pan Massachusetts Challenge. This event will raise $36 million dollars in one weekend for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. But we won't do it without some help. Each rider must raise $4,300 to participate or fork over the balance themself. Seems like a tall order but most actually far exceed this amount. Last year I raised nearly $10,000 with a pretty fair amount coming from my friends in the Saab community. So I'm back for help.
I fulfilled my obligation yesterday but nobody beat cancer by doing the minimum. Believe me I know. As a testicular cancer survivor I gave my left nut, had poison pumped through my veins, got zapped by radiation, and rode a bike 200 miles to fight cancer. I'll do the bike again but I hope I'm done with that other crap! I hope you don't think it's too much to throw a few bucks towards the cause. I doubt any of you have not been touched by cancer in some way. There is no better way to help. Every singel cent pleged to a rider goes to the Dana Farber. All of the event overhead is covered by corporate donations.
As if funding cancer research wasn't a noble enough excuse, Saab Network site sponsor "State of Nine" has graciously donated a $100 gift card as an incentive. You get one chance at the card for every $10 donated. The more you can help the better your chances. Smart huh? All you have to do in order to have a chance at scoring some great Saab stuff is to visit the link below to read what "Mr Saab" himself our Tasmanian mate "Swade" wrote about why people should support this event (hope this works!).

Hope you can help. No contribution is too small, or too big!
